"Heather is outstanding. She was wonderful to have on the staff, took great interest in the students, was always prepared and conducted her classes with extreme professionalism. Due to Heather's encouragement and inspiration many of her students have successful careers in graphic design. Heather will be a valuable asset in any educational environment."
John Olson - Former Dean at Tulane University's Mississippi Campus
"I worked as Heather’s direct manager at OPN Architects during a time of tremendous growth and change. We collaboratively reigned in the brand, revised all the materials, transitioned from Microsoft to Adobe workflows, and reinvented the firm’s presentation and proposal materials. During the 3 years together we won over $2 billion in work and radically changed OPN Architects in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids.
I was able to assign Heather work with certainty that she would execute with quality exceeding my own. We operated as a team with full autonomy in our roles and at our respective locations. Working with Heather was fun, creative, and incredibly productive. She exemplified collaboration, leadership and a deep work ethic."
Brian Gunning - Former Marketing Director, OPN Architects
"Heather Purdy was a former employee I managed while at Beau Rivage Casino and Resort in Biloxi, Mississippi. She led the team of graphic designers, production artists and a copywriter in the advertising department.
I believe one of Heather's strengths is her dedication to continuing to learn about the process of the business and how design can facilitate those needs. An example of that was a photo and video shoot that Heather was involved with at the Beau Rivage. She was instrumental in facilitating communications between an outside agency and the casino's thirteen department heads of the property. (To give you an understanding of what that entailed, the casino has over 750 hotel rooms, 9 retail stores and 8 restaurants; and the casino is open 24 hours.) Heather's understanding of the materials that would be needed for advertising and marketing design was crucial to the project's success."
Brian Bork - Former Executive Marketing Director, Beau Rivage Casino and Resort
